Andrews Holborn, Londonon 4/4/1718. Will dated 23/9/1715

Joseph
Viscount Micklethwait Esq of Swine Co. York &
Colton Conyers & Cosham, Co Durham. Born 1680. Was
Secretary to the Earl Stanhope, The English Ambassador at
The Court of Madrid, Spain in 1708, afterwards M.P. for
Arundel (1718-27) & Hull (1727-34). Created Baron
Micklethwait of Portarlington on 7 August 1724 &
Viscount Micklethwait of Longford in Ireland 30th May
1727. He died unmarried 16 January 1734, Will dated 24/7/1733,
proved at York 22/2/1734 leaving his estates to Ann Ewer,
spinster of Red Lyon Square, High Holborn, London.
(Copy of will obtained) It is said that his estates
then passed to the Norfolk family of Micklethwait. The
title became extinct. He was buried 26th January 1734
at Hadley, Middlesex.
